The Ultimate Man Cave
The Ultimate man cave is on just about everyone's list, even the ladies. We all need a place to go and unwind from the days work. People can spend most of their life dreaming up such a place. Al Turpin, a Senior Director of Operations for Marriott International decided to take his passion for building gadgets onto a whole new level.
Al however, doesn't take all the credit, "As a young kid, I can remember going to the flea markets by the Washington Court House with my Dad. We'd take a camper and basically be there all day," Al recalls as we stand in his "man cave." His father, was a State Highway Patrol officer in Ohio but was in to just about every hobby. His father's slogan, 'self taught and self made' has been passed down to Al and can be seen in the hand made trinkets, bars, tables, and even speakers pictured below. Even his Dad's old tools are still used.
Bourbon was the theme of the room in the beginning but then, "morphed into the, Manhattan Project," Al states. It has the feel of a fall out shelter, and becomes a favorite to anyone who stops by. "It's fun to have the guys over from the Fire Department, " remarks Al. "Only thing I need is a place for meals to be delivered." Elm & Iron's one of a kind pieces can be seen sprinkled throughout the room/shelter/man cave or whatever your heart desires to call it, as well as many of the unique items that are carried.
Let's just say, that whenever shit hits the fan. We all know where we are going.
